Context
Brief:
Improve existing model to better answer the needs of the users. A mountaineering glove that allows you to move quickly in cold environments while keeping dexterity.
The priority for this project was to improve dexterity while reducing the C0² impact of the glove.
The user.
Alpinists need to move fast when attacking a summit. They cannot compromise on quality when a small mistake can cause an accident. The Sprint gives the user unbeatable dexterity for a waterproof leather glove.
Research
Studying the returns of the previous model, I mapped out where to avoid seams and where to reinforce the glove to maxmize efficency of leather use.
Exploration
User tests
Fitting tests with alpinists ensure the fit and placement of leather to ensure protection while manipulating tools.
The Design
Material
High quality goat leather gives the best balance between dexterity and durability. Matched with a robust woven ripstop material for the back of the hand, the Sprint is a minimal glove that prioritizes performance and durability.
